Some trends are easy to jump onto…others not so much. This was my general feeling towards culottes.
My daily work style is all about practicality and comfort so of course Skinny jeans or any pants style close to that are my fail-proof solution. I’ve never been the most slender so the thought of wide-legged pants seemed like a frumpy disaster waiting to happen. But contrary to popular belief, culottes can actually become a wardrobe staple and the key to success is finding the right length; above the ankle is a standard go for most.
Whether your look is more tailored or relaxed, there’s a cut and fit to suit your style. So in a quest to avoid the pants wearing me, I made a note to break up my outfit and show a little bit of skin by pairing them with a cut-out crop top and a pair of sneakers. I’ve named 2016 the year to ‘Risk It All’ so this outfit ticked all the boxes when it comes to my day-to-day fashion AND it was super comfy.
