Party Theme | Candy Land

I recently received an invitation to a close friend’s themed 21st birthday celebration this coming weekend and I couldn’t be more excited. The invitation stated that this party had a Candyland theme and all guest were required to come dressed up according to the theme. Girls – Think Nicki Minaj/Katy Perry Guys – Black tie (think out the box)

Katy Perry’s music video for ‘California Gurls’ immediately comes to mind when I think of Candyland; soft pinks and colourful wigs. A tip given to the guests by the host for a place to seek inspiration was Nicki Minaj. Nicki is known for wearing outrageously colourful wigs and bright, out-of-this-world outifts that make you stop and stare. So I have decided that I will be taking a page out of Nicki’s book for an outfit for this do because I feel that Katy Perry’s look is too innocent and fairy like and I like the more daring and sexy look that Nicki often pulls off. Also, I’ve got booty like Nicki. har har har!

I will hopefully be wearing a blonde wig (if I can find one) bright tights and shoes and a simple tight crop top. Well, thats what I have in mind for now, Lord knows what I might find when I actually start shopping for an outift. I will be posting looks of what eveyone wore on the night and sharing how the evening went!
