Sunday happens to be our absolute favourite day of the week. Yes, it does mean that the weekend has drawn to a close but we see Sundays as an opportunity to visualise the week ahead. So in our search for some inspo, we recently met up with the peeps behind Fixin Diaries to find out more about them.
If this is the first time you’re hearing about Fixin Diaries, there’s no doubt that you’ve caught a glimpse of the custom-built fixie bicycles on your Instagram feed. It all started off with a social ride around Soweto and the movement has steadily grown in the past 11 months. Founded by a group of friends wanting to expose Sowetans to a different lifestyle, they’ve proved that you can lead a healthy lifestyle in the hood and still look awesome doing it. The team at Fixin Diaries give life to what is old and forgotten and breathe life into it to create lovely and unique fixie bicycles.
The Fixin workshop is a welcoming creative space. There’s almost always something happening so you might find yourself spending a good couple of hours chatting with the guys and even making a new friend or two. The guys behind this awesome concept are quite fashionable themselves, this can be seen through their personal style and the little bits and bobs displayed in the shop like the Alexander McQueen X Puma sneakers.
So what can you expect from Fixin Diaries in the next few months?
The team has recently partnered with Puma to bring Fishtail rides to South Africa for the first time ever on March 28th. Spaces are limited so get in touch with them to book a spot. They’ll also be hosting a Fashion ride on the March 21st, involving few stylish influencers and celebrities so keep a lookout on their social pages for more info.

Hi Lorna!
We’re so glad that you love the blog!
Send us through some suggestions of what you would like to see more of 😉
Fixin Diaries does indeed build bikes from scratch (customized to your every desire) as well as fix old bicycles.
