Poetry Staycation Looks

I’m not one to follow trends, never have been. Seasons change and I literally dress according to my mood that day or whatever I am obsessed with in my wardrobe at the time. What I will tell you is that I do keep going back to the classics.

Sedi and I were fortunate enough to take some time off our busy schedules and head to Franschhoek for a couple of days, read about it here and we took a few of some fav pieces that we picked up from Poetry stores with us. I hadn’t been Winter shopping in some years and don’t know what will be trending this season so I really didn’t know where to start. I gravitated towards classics and staples. See my staycation looks below.

Pink Corduroys:
Corduroys are an Autumn/Winter staple that will never go out of fashion. Growing up, it’s all our parents used to dress us in for the chilly months and I must admit, I’m ecstatic that they’ve made them cool for adults. These pink cords obviously caught my attention because of the colour, duh! but also the fit. Poetry also has a matching blazer if you want to go the whole way with the look.
The Maxi Dress:
One thing that might not be quite clear in my everyday wear is my love for a loose fitting maxi dress. I absolutely love being super comfortable and looking like a cute little lady sometimes. This maxi dress is perfect transitional item for Autumn. Through over a chunky knit and pair it with a pair of leather boots for when it gets chilly later in the evening.

The Parker:

I always love the functionality of the pieces of clothing that I wear. With the crazy Johannesburg thunderstorms during this time, weird, one cannot go into Autumn/Winter without a parker to fight the elements of Mother Nature. A parker is also a very key item of outerwear that everyone should have in their closet. I loved the length and colour of this Parker from Poetry, perfect to keep you warm and fab on any raining day. Oh and it comes with a hood that can be tucked away in the collar when you don’t need it. Cute!

Poetry has a beautiful range of Winter items beyond the three that I have highlighted, I literally wish I could have them all. Tell me which key item you wish to have in your Winter wardrobe and stand a chance to win yourself a voucher from Poetry stores. Competition ends 17 May 2019.

Good luck!
