SkinCeuticals Blemish + Age Defence Range | Review

An unhealthy lifestyle can have negative impact on your body and skin. Unfortunately for me, I have seen these results in both. My poor diet and stress has contributed to random breakouts, unwanted blemishes and that annoying uneven tone that I can’t seem to get rid of.

I was lucky enough to be selected among a small group of beauty bloggers to try out the SkinCeuticals Blemish and Age Range. You may have noticed that I have been trying almost any and all products sent to me, both premium and low-end, trying to find the perfect range to help target my problem areas. October’s trial was dedicated to SkinCeutical. If you’re not familiar with SkinCeautical, it’s a high-end skin care line known for improving skin by using science to create home care products that can be used by you and I.

This Blemish + Age Defence range is targeted at individuals with break-out prone skin and blackheads. I generally have good skin but I’m not excluded from getting a breakout here and there. My worst habit is when that breakout does come along, I pick and squeeze and this almost always leaves a blemish.

First Impressions

Using the Blemish + Age Cleansing Gel is a bit of an overwhelming experience as this facial wash is a bit harsh. My eyes and skin immediately felt a bit of a cool burn upon first wash. I was careful to avoid the eye area when washing my face again on the following days.

The superstar of the range seems to be the Blemish + Age ‘Correct’ serum. This magic potion corrects any imperfections and signs of ageing, I probably used this solution along with the Ultra Facial Defence more often than any of the other products in the range. I love that the serum is literally as light in texture and colour as water, so no heavy cream or oil that I had to apply before – I loved that! 4 drops night and day helped keep my face hydrated and looking healthier. The serum contains citric acid which encourages exfoliation which helps reduce signs of ageing as well as  2% of Dioic acid which helps reduce the production of acne bacteria! This is why I probably didn’t deal with any breakouts last month! Score!

Although the range is a bit pricey with the Blemish & Age Solution going for R1325 and the Phloretin CF antioxidant for more aged skin going for a whooping R2725 they kinda do the trick.

These products are expensive but I definitely see them as an investment. It is very important to know what you problem areas on your skin are in order to know which SkinCeutical products to purchase. Do your research, read up on which ingredients are used in what to save yourself and lot of time and money.
